For the love of nature and stones... (A walk with Beng and Fabian) Tues 20 June 09.00am

It's school holiday time, and you have nothing to do. Well. Why not do something different: come over to Bukit Brown, and find out why some people want it preserved. Yes - some parts have been dug up; but a lot remains. But what's there to talk about - it's a cemetery, right? Nothing to see or do. Definitely nothing to buy...

But if you have never been to Bukit Brown, and have never seen or heard what the fuss is about...Well ... ...spend the morning by doing something different: take a casual walk in Bukit Brown that will introduce you to the history and heritage found in those graves. Listen to the stories of people, of personalities, of stones and stories less told. And while you walk from person and history to another, listen to Beng as he talks about the plants, the flora and fauna that live within the verdant park.

Listen to the lives of people - from coolies to bankers, from landlords to war heroes. Find out about edible plants and shrubs and kingfishers and monitor lizards. And hopefully - at then end, appreciate the history, heritage, flora and fauna found right here in Bukit Brown!
